This is a joint update on funders and news! There is quite a lot to cover so keep your eyes peeled. In this post I’m going to update you on what news there is, and round it out with a bunch of funders you might like to know about.
Game Releases
Whoowasit?
Ravensburger Ditigal have released a game that shows a lot of work having gone into it. It is a child-friendly game that will engage your child through voice, music, and graphics. Whoowasit is a co-operative children’s game with a lot to look at, being the 2008 Spiel des Jahres Kinderspiel Winner. It will be the subject of the next review.
Spellcraft
We were advised a couple of months ago by the developers that this game was coming. It’s now here, and shares much in the way of gaming style and methods with Magic: the Gathering. It is the inaugural release of Three Goblins, being a “[f]antasy collectable card game made especially for the iPad”, and “designed and made by card players for card players”. If I get an opportunity, I’ll try to review this game next week as well (to make up for the one missing this week).
Updates
Le Havre
A major update from Le Havre, which has thrown into the bargain for you a retina resolution update as well as an overhaul of the AI. These were two things that fans (and detractors) of the game were clammoring for.
King of Dragon Pass
Of course, this is not an iOS Board Game, but it is one of those ports that if you love games, you should love this. KoDP was originally released for iPhone with x2 magnification for iPad; while this was enough to engage, it was not quite sufficient to immerse. However, it was not merely a resolution update, the developers have taken care to actually update the interface as a whole, making much better use of the iPad’s real estate.
Funders
Steel Stars
Note: this is not an iOS Board Game, but a physical one.
This game has only 6 days remaining, so if you want to support, best get in quickly (As a fellow Australian I feel somewhat compelled to give it a shout out, but there may be some terrible conflict of interest there).
Eidolon
Note: this is not an iPad Board Game, but a pen and paper project.
Last year, I made the readers of this fine webpage of an artistic gameing/narrative project I was working on. Well, that project is nearing publication, and I’ve created an indie gogo as a pre-order mechanism. If you like roleplaying, deluxe narratives, and highly refined artwork from many talented artists, I encourage you to check this out.

Yeah pretty good.. Different mechanics from Magic, fighting totally different. so dunno why reviewer compares. Not enough opponents for 2 player though, so I'm stick on 1 player at mo.
spellcraft is a great new card game and worthy of a review. as fun but much less complicated than magic. beautifully designed with (so far) flawless game play. highly recommended!
